Global Warming and Climate Change

Discovery Channel on Global Warming

Climate change across the world has changed dramatically. One of the main causes of this drastic change in record breaking heat waves is related to higher levels of CO2. Several things are affected such as; the cutting of trees, diminishing the amount of CO2 trees can absorb, less water is evaporated into the air, causing more drought like weather, while humans mining for and using coals, oil, and natural gases, are redistributing the CO2 back into the atmosphere, hence, causing a thicker atmospheric blanket and warming the air. In 1979 Sea ice (Churchill Area) covered almost 1.7 billion acres about the size of the U.S; now, it has lost about the size of two Texas’s areas. Climate changes also causes changes in other pattern changes such as, the heating of the ocean waters, this eventually causes rippling effect, which is where you will find more powerful storms, drought, and hurricanes.
